Usage-Based Billing (updated rates)

Shaw has announced an updated pricing and cap schedule. While their page explaining the changes is overly convoluted, confusing and missing vital data, they have upped the ante. However, after "consulting" with their customers they have decided to continue Usage-Based Billing over and above montly recurring charges.

Starting in June Shaw will also be offering ONLY BUNDLED deals with their IPTV, please visit www.shaw.ca for those details. They have also eliminated the top speeds as unbundled offerings.

The plans are as follows by date:

As of May 26th 2011

As someone who attending both the initial consultation meetings as well as last nights meeting I am curious as to where you got the "Insurance Plan" information from that was not discussed/mentioned last night and is not on Shaw's website?

Hi Rob

When UBB became a talking point for the nation I created an earlier post, where I researched all 4 main ISP's for their proposed (or in place) retail price structures. In Shaw's case they almost immediately recanted due to public pressure and in the time since, they have apparently removed the "insurance" option for overages. If you are a Shaw customer I would contact them directly for clarification. I only wanted to make note of Shaw's aggressive new pricing and attaching their highest tiers only to Cable TV subs.

Thanks!
